Atlanta serves as the flagship site and launching point for global Wheeldestrian™ implementation. Through the strategic partnership with Shepherd Center, a world-renowned neurorehabilitation hospital, MUTW has positioned Atlanta as the ideal proving ground for this revolutionary wheelchair traffic signal technology.

The city’s commitment to equity and accessibility, combined with its role as a major metropolitan hub in the South—a region with a high concentration of persons with disabilities—makes it the perfect foundation for demonstrating the system’s real-world effectiveness.

This serves multiple purposes: validating the plug-and-play technology in existing traffic infrastructure, showcasing the system to other municipalities, and directly addressing pedestrian safety concerns in a city that understands the critical need for disability inclusion.
